Come one, come all, everybody is invited!

I am sure that those that are aware of such things, have noticed the crazy looking cat in the corner of my avatars, and maybe a comment or two, but I want to make one thing clear, this site is for everybody! My accepting the “cat” family as friends is for one simple reason, I want to be friends with everybody! Yes, I am an opinionated loudmouth, deal with it, but, if you are fair, as the cats I have met are, then you and your family can expect the same treatment as anyone else. In fact, I am going to add a “monster” of some sort to my avatars as well. Lets just say, this site should be considered “neutral”, neither this site, nor I will take sides just based on an avatar! So, if that has anyone worried, just think of this site as a very conservative Switzerland in our game world, but, remember, I am a Texan, so, if anyone starts any trouble with anyone else, I will take the side of “right” every single time! So, if you are a bully, this is the place to not be so.

All of this said, if the need ever arises, I will set up a section of the forum for “negotiating”, or, “peace talks”, whatever you wish to call it. Anyway, this site is all about the Twitter games, whichever ones you play, so come on and sign up, let me know what you need here and I will set it up, just like the cats and monsters, you can have your own “hidden” hangout. Just let me know.

Gaining Experience Points (XP) in the higher levels, how?

October 26, 2009 by · 3 Comments

I am really hoping to get a reply on this one quick! Each time you move up a level, it takes more experience points to get to the next level than it did the previous, and it should be so, but, what I am noticing is that I am having to fight the same players over and over again, sure, for me this is not that big of a deal as long as I win, but to those I am fighting, it must suck!

At the time of writing this, I am a level 56, been fighting and jobbing for what seems like forever, and tonight, I just got there. I try to move up one level every couple of  days or so, moving slowly, building up cash for buying weapons and property, but, after every level, I am a bit freaked out when I see the distance to my next goal! What freaks my out is the point of this article.

Let me break this down, for me to go to level 57 from 56 is about 300 experience points. When you fight someone in your bracket, if you are lucky, you get 4 or 5 in xp, but most of the time it is a 3 or less. If there is any cash to be had worth wasting the stamina on, it is usually a 1 or 0 in xp, the cash is not so bad, but the xp is more valuable. Basically, an average of 3 xp per fight, being generous, that means it takes 100 fights, IF you get that average!

In the lower levels, there seems to be more players, some start and just never come back (those are the onse that give up the cash), and in those lower levels, xp is not that important, cash is, and not everyone is on your team yet! Once you get above level 30, the herd starts thinning out! Those that continue, past level 40 are even fewer, that is when I started noticing that I was seeing the same players, over and over in the fight que even more often, that is also, when the higher level players start showing up to rob you while you sleep! When I hit level 50, I noticed that I was finding the big money more often when I won, but, the big kids are still not playing nice, obviously they are there for the same reason, cash! Anyway, I noticed that from level 50, the player count really gets thin, if your team has been growing. So, now, I am at level 56.

I have 617 members in my family now as well, that is not a lot, but it is ok. Based on this, when I check the fight que, there are now just about the same players as before!  I almost screamed! As you know, when you move up a level, you leave behind the players that are still on that level, but, most of them have been on your list for at least two levels!

(As I am writing this, I had someone reply on my profile, “add me to your mob and stop to attack please” see my point? As I just stated, this person was a level up from me yesterday, so they have been getting hit by me for around 2 levels as I move past, a few days ago, they were three levels higher and when I attacked, I lost!  As of writing this, they are the same level as me, and I just got there and then started writing, not everyone plays every day I guess?)

So, what is one to do? How do you get that extra XP? At 4 minutes per Energy level, and 30 needed for a job, that is 2 hours! I have three Twitter acounts now, two were originally just for other websites, for when articles got published there, and then I got into this game, and now have three, and this additional website! I do this to kill time between working, writing, playing, and sleeping. I have seen references on some profiles about trading XP, now I know why, but how? Sell your weapons, buy your weapons, sell your weapons? As I said, I am only a level 56, maybe when I get way up there, I will understand, maybe, I will have so much money that selling off for half of what they cost, just to buy them back again will make more sense, maybe someone will reply to this and explain? Just maybe?

People, we are a strange lot, are we not?

Have you ever noticed that sometimes, just saying hello can get a negative response? You just never know what to expect. I have been working in various “people” oriented businesses pretty much all of my life, and every time I find a new personality, it just amazes me.

I tried to start a conversation with someone, a person that I have seen all over many profiles, and from what I saw, they seemed like a friendly sort, but I quickly learned that I was wrong, oh well, I just wanted to say hello.

I had to do some research, I had to know if it was just me, why did I feel guilty that I had unintentionally upset someone to the point that they were, a little bit rude. I guess maybe they were having a bad day, and I just happened to be the one that stepped in it, I don’t know. But, I did find these two videos to illustrate my confusion.

This first, I believed to be correct, but, after watching the second……..

Sociopath TestThe most popular videos are a click away

I was really a mess, I didn’t pass the test! After being able to answer all of the math questions with no problem, I was confident, then, that last question, the only one that counted, I FAILED! Who would have thought that 98% of people could all come up with the same answer? I don’t think so, but, maybe if that question were asked in some other country that could be true, but, as is my point of this article, people are strange, or, it takes all kinds, or maybe, just maybe, I’m nuts?

What can 140Gamerz do for me?

October 21, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

What can 140Gamerz.com do for you? No, we can’t pay your bills, or give you free stuff, so what good are we? Well, I guess that depends on what you give 140Gamerz.com, yep, thats right, what you give 140Gamerz.com will determin what it in turn can give you!

So, how does this work? Is 140Gamerz going to charge me for a membership? No, nothing like that, all this site needs from you, is your time. The more time that you spend here, posting a comment or reply, the more the new guy will get from the site by learning from you! Are you with me so far? So, if you are giving your advice and time to help the new guy learn, what exactly are you getting? Well, you are making friends, maybe learning a little something yourself, maybe you can recruit new members, get more followers, and, just simply have a hangout that is all yours! I know, when it comes to community stuff, MySpace and Facebook have us beat, but anybody and everybody is on those sites, so, 140Gamerz.com is but one thing, yours!

My point is simple, I build websites and create places like this, because I enjoy it, just like playing the games, it is something to do, and I like it. Why are you playing games? Why do you get on Facebook or MySpace, why do you even use Twitter? Well, I imagine it is for the same reason, something to do, and a way of communicating with others, share photos, videos, and maybe make contacts that go beyond just the site or game where we  meet or play. Am I right?

All this site can do, is kind of like the difference between living in a commune or having your own house. In a commune, everybody does a little bit of work to keep the place going, but when it is your house, you have to do all of the work, cutting the grass, or repainting, and stuff like that, but it is yours! Here, all of the grass cutting and repainting is done by me, consider me the maintenance man, so, all you have to do is the fun part, hang out, make friends, and communicate, share photos , and videos , so, if you haven’t registered yet or even written a comment or reply, get started, bring in your friends and show off your new house!

Balloon Boy, What do you think about it?

October 19, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

If you have been living under a rock, or maybe in a 140 Mafia coma, then you haven’t heard about Balloon Boy. This is one of those things that when it first started being shown on Fox News, it looked fake, and even Shepard Smith said that when it was first being reported, Fox News almost didn’t cover it becuse they thought it was a hoax, I mean come on, a weather balloon shaped like a Flying Saucer? As the report started getting interesting, the balloon looked like it was really big, and, to carry a boy to 8,000 feet, it would have to be, then, I started having Mythbusters flashbacks, remember when they did the thing with the real weather balloons? Yeah, they did the math and figured out what it would take to lift Adam in a lawn chair, and so on. When they did this, the array of balloons was massive, compared to what we found out we were watching, Adam and Jamie had to really scrounge to get enough helium to do the myth, so, as I was watching what I thought was a big flying saucer balloon I was trying to figure out why would a weather balloon need to be that big, and where they got enough helium to fill it up! Then, finally, the thing came down and the guy grabbed it, when I saw how tiny it was, I was confused, and dissappointed. I had been hoping that a kid would crawl out and jump up and down exclaiming just how much fun that was, but, in order for a kid to have been in it, it would have had to be a baby! Bummer, the rush was over with a crash!

Anyway, I found this video to help those that may have missed it, and, to just have a video to post. If you guys have a favorite YouTube clip, post it here in a comment, create a new topic in the forum, in other words, this is the video category, enjoy!

What are 140 games? Twitter: Work and play at the same time!

October 19, 2009 by · 2 Comments

If you are like I was a couple of weeks ago, and have no idea what a 140 game is and what the 140 is all about, I will explain. The 140 is just to let you know that it is a Twitter based game, because Twitter has a 140 character limit, per message. This site is 140Gamerz.com, which is basically to let people know that this site is dedicated to all people that play any of these Twitter games, there are several of the Twitter games that do not have 140 in their title, so don’t think 140Gamerz.com is not for you.

In fact, my intention is to have this site be a networking tool for everybody and anybody that is using Twitter and the Twitter games, if you are new, to these games, like me, in fact, the games themselves are new, you can come here to meet others that play, and get tips, join teams, and make friends. This site is also here to make it easier to have a conversation, those 140 character messages are just too short for me, I get a little bit long winded. Imagine, the two paragraphs here would take several full 140 character posts or, tweets, that is just too confusing to try and keep up with.

Since this site uses Twitme, everytime an article is posted, Twitme automatically tweets an exerpt, with a link to the full article, this allows the sites followers to get a peek at what is posted, and, anyone that does a search on Twitter, for a keyword that is contained within that article, will also be able to find it. As far as the “social” sites go, Twitter is the only one that works for me, it is quick, easy, and can be used by the websites I build. Facebook, MySpace, or whatever, are just somebody elses website, yes, you can use it to meet people or whatever, but they don’t work, “with” your website, my point being, you can work and play almost at the same time! What a concept! 140 games and Twitter are the best thing since sliced bread! I also have to take my hat off to those that have developed tools, like Twitme, that enable WordPress to work with Twitter!

So, come on in, register and get involved, you never know, these games and Twitter may just be what you are looking for!

140Gamerz Chat Room is now live!

October 18, 2009 by · 1 Comment

Gamerz.com now has a chat room! Remember those? I can see it being ok if you have someone that you want to have a “live” one on one conversation with, but it is not perfect, as you know, chatrooms are a bit outdated but, in case you want to use it, it is there. All you have to do is use your current username and password for this site, at least when I tried it with fat_madman as the user, on another browser, it auto-filled the user and password, so, I just clicked the button and it let me in! I know this could be a can of worms, but I guess we will find out. Have fun!

To go to the Chatroom just follow this link…….ENTER THE CHAT ROOM

Any discussion about the chatroom goes here, let me know if you encounter any problems, too many and we will get rid of it! At this time, this will be the only link, let me know if I should make it easier to find, and if we need more rooms, I guess I could set them up for the differnt games or something, just let me know.
